Internal Trustee

In accordance with Article 9 – 9.6.7 of the CUPE Local 998 bylaws, an internal trustee is responsible for safeguarding the integrity and transparency of the Local’s financial practices. Trustees conduct audits of the Local’s financial records and ensure that all funds, assets, and accounts are managed in compliance with CUPE’s Constitution and Local bylaws. Their role includes reviewing expenditures, verifying proper documentation and authorizations, and preparing detailed audit reports for the membership. Trustees may also make recommendations to improve financial procedures and ensure accountability within the Local. This vital oversight helps maintain member trust and promotes responsible stewardship of union resources. The audit is sent to our National Secretary-Treasurer in accordance with the provisions of the Canadian Union Of Public Employees Constitution.
