Why Get Involved

Getting involved with CUPE 998 means being part of something bigger—a national union with over 750,000 members across Canada, all working together to protect and improve our rights, wages, and working conditions. CUPE offers strong representation, collective bargaining power, access to training and education, and a network of support to help members navigate workplace challenges. When you engage with your union, you help shape the decisions that affect your job, your future, and your workplace. A strong, active membership is what gives CUPE its power—and your voice matters.

Get Involved

CUPE 998 thrives on the strength and involvement of its members—your voice and participation matter. There are many ways to get involved, whether by joining one of our active Committees (listed under the Committees tab—feel free to contact the committee chair for more info), stepping up as a Steward (see the Stewards tab for details), or becoming a CUPE Communicator. As a Communicator, you’ll receive key updates and important union information first, helping to share and circulate it with members in your area. It’s a great way to stay informed, stay connected, and help build a stronger, more engaged local. We want to hear your ideas—together, we grow stronger.
